Dr. Emily Topi earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry. Her clinical training includes the Kansas City VA Medical Center with an emphasis in ocular disease and low vision. She also completed training in pediatrics at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Health Clinics in Kansas City as well as interned at multiple inner-city community health clinics in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Topi provides comprehensive care for all ages; her areas of interest include pediatrics, contact lens, glaucoma, low vision, and pre/post-surgical care.
Prior to moving back to her hometown of Kansas City (Go Royals, Go Chiefs!) Dr. Topi served as Associate Director of Optometry for a large optometry/ophthalmology clinic in the boroughs of NYC. She was also Adjunct Assistant Clinical Professor of the State University of New York, College of Optometry.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and is a Leadership Institute 1.0 graduate; she served the last two years as a Young Advocate Committee member for the New York State Optometric Association. She is past President of the Optometric Society of the City of New York as well as Past President of the Chicago North Side Optometric Society and Past Treasurer of the Greater Kansas City Optometric Society. She completed mission trips and volunteer work in St. Louis and Mexico. She has delivered multiple COPE approved lectures.
Dr. Topi is fluent in English and Spanish.
