Dr. Alyssa (Sherwood) Foster grew up in Pleasant Hill, MO. She attended the University of Missouri — Columbia (MIZ!) before earning her Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Missouri — St. Louis. During her optometric rotations, she developed special interest in ocular disease (dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, corneal disease), specialty contact lenses, and pediatrics.
Dr. Foster joined Eyecare Associates of Lee’s Summit in early 2021 after working in the northland for a few years. Dr. Foster loves caring for patients of all ages but takes special interest in patients suffering from dry eye disease. She often fits specialty lenses for patients with dry eye and has brought advanced technology into the clinic for the treatment of dry eyes.
She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and a current board member of the Missouri Optometric Association.

- Travel guru. When she’s not in the office, she’s probably in another state or country. She loves all things travel and immersing herself and her family in different cultures!
- Loves dogs. Currently, she has three dogs. Rhett (mini, grumpy Aussie), Chance (fun-loving, hyper Aussie) and old-man Phog (13 yrs old, Presa Carnio).
